Texan Deborah Johnson discovered her own artistic gifts in her mid-30s and painted professionally for 25 years before she opened her own tiny gallery in Bastrop, Tex. She then added works by six other artists and moved to a larger space to create Art Connections Gallery. The enterprise, which received the Texas Downtown Association’s Presidents Award for Best Downtown Business in 2016, attracted more artists and moved to larger spaces in Bastrop until it settled in La Grange in 2017. Further growth of the gallery and its collection resulting in a stunning space filled with over 3000 items created by almost 200 fine artists and artisans.
The Covid-19 pandemic encouraged us to build our online store and we are pleased to serve customers across the continental US. The opportunity to retire to the Oregon coast resulted in the closing of the brick and mortar gallery in La Grange and a transition to online only. We are pleased to be able to continue to offer the works of many of our artists and look forward to searching out new artists as we explore a new part of the country.
